Our Journey to Lagos

It’s a lazy Monday and all of the picked students are excited to visit a country they probably haven’t been to. After a long plane and bus trip we finally arrived to the city Lagos in Portugal. We got dropped off at our hotel, all exhausted from the trip. But don’t forget we have a funny and happy week behead of us.
What is Erasmus for, you may ask. It’s a mobility for students to come in another country, city and school to represent their own. You get to know new people from other countries, possibly try new food and also learn about other cultures and habits.
For myself this trip was really nice. I`ve got to meet new people and also got to chance to tell someone from another country something about the place where I was born and where I live.
On the first day we got to visit the school where we first met with the students. At first we introduced ourselves and the students introduced themselves. After that we presented presentations about our country, capital city and school and also watched a video about Lagos that the students prepared for us. After finishing the projects the students took us to their school gym where we played sport games with them. After doing all the sport games we were all exhausted and hungry, and that’s when we went to their Canteen where we had the lunch. It was very tasty. After finishing the meal and saying goodbye to the students our teachers told us we are going to the beach. It was an interesting walk on the beach and we also visited the pretty cliffs. On the dinner we got divided to pairs and we got to visit the families of few of the students and had dinner there. The family I was at was very kind and gave me Portuguese food to try. It was very tasty and delicious.
On the second day we met in the town square with the students and their history teacher. Their teacher told us about some history about Lagos and it indeed was very interesting. In the afternoon we visited a close by city called Sagreas. We also visited beautiful cliffs with an awesome view.
On the third and last day, early in the morning we watched the sunrise. Later the morning we again visited the students’ school. With one of the most professional chef from around the closest area we cooked a popular Portugal desert called “doce finos”, and the desert was also very tasty. In the afternoon we again visited a beautiful beach and also a museum with lovely exhibits.
It’s Friday early in the morning and we all are on the way back to the Faro airport and Bratislava. We all had a good time in Lagos and all of us are excited for the Portugal students to visit us here in Bratislava.
